- Pasqual Calbó (1752-1817) was a painter from Minorca. He spend 8 years in Venice and Rome and was appointed in Vienne. Nevertheless, he leaved the Imperial Court and returned to Maó. He developped a very relevant career as painter and, at the same time, he taught mathematics privately. He prepared a manuscript in Catalan, dealing with pure mathematics, experimental physics, design of sundials, perspective, architecture and contruction of boats. This manuscript constitutes a mathematical course.
